Advertisers are looking at 3 main points when choosing a tweeter to carry their ad: -
1) Number of followers.
A tweeter with 10,000 followers is obviously more attractive to advertisers than a tweeter with 100 followers. - That pretty much speaks for itself.
2) Percentage of followers who are potential users of the product that they are advertising.
A tweeter with followers within the specialized niche relating to the advertiser's product is far more likely to get a certain advertiser's business than a tweeter who has no followers within that niche. - That is why it is so important, as a tweeter, to choose your tags wisely and to ensure they are relevant to the interests of your following, no matter what number of followers you may have.
3) The tweeter's ability to write ads that sell product.
An advertiser is going to be far more interested in, for instance, a tweeter who has a consistently large number of clicks on their advertising tweets, than they would be in a tweeter who only gets a single click on every other ad. - The information is in the description: Mold your tweet/ad around the description. Use some of the keywords used in the description if you can.
These three points, when applied together, should increase a tweeter's potential popularity amongst advertisers, and therefore could consequently gain the tweeter more opportunities.

3 Important Points to Consider If You Want More Opportunities

Hi,
I just wanted to leave a note about keywords.
I see a lot of people entering these as if they were going to help you in search results. There are a lot of 'social media,' 'twitter,' blogging,' SEO,' etc. I also see a lot of multiples of words like, 'blog,' 'blogging,' blogger,' etc.
Unfortunately, these are not how keywords are used in Sponsored Tweets nor is this likely to help you get more Offers.
In Sponsored Tweets, keywords are used to help Advertisers find tweeters by major theme.
For example, if Smuckers came to us and wanted to create a campaign about their new jam, the keywords they use might look like: 'food,' 'cooking,' family,' children,' etc.
Basically, you want keywords broad enough to cover a wide variety of themes. In fact, the best keyword to have is 'general.'

I think everyone need to relax on the under $1 price point and focus on growing your twitter following. Find some great people to interact with the follower count will come, so will your value on twitter, THEN the advertising revenue will increase. Pretend you're a business owner and evaluate your own account. The people sponsoring the tweets are not robots and they are not stupid. Would you pay to be on your own page? If your page brings real value to the advertisers then they would have no problem paying good money to bring valuable users to their page. What everyone seems to be forgetting is that the type of followers you have is important.
If most of your followers are "The Hyatt in Chicago" or "Fenway Park" what good does that do for an advertiser? You need to have real people following you and you NEED to interact with them so they are aware of your page. Just my 2 cents. -
I agree. It's definitely not a scam like some others are saying on here. I've already made money from numerous offers within the short time I've been a member, and I already have $15.00+ credited to my Sponsored Tweets account. Yeah, it's not a lot. But I also haven't spent much time at all using Sponsored Tweets. Once in a while I check in and look for offers. If they're there, I post them. If not, I just check back in a day or two.
I've noticed that the keywords you use, the ratio of your followers/following, and proper grammar/catchy ads really helps a LOT on Sponsored Tweets.
I've also noticed that the more I tweet successfully (by getting clicks and bringing traffic to the advertiser), the same advertisers will return to you and ask you to tweet again. Also, it seems that I've attracted more advertisers quickly by dropping my price per tweet to $1.00 which is about half of what they recommend that I charge (and what I used to charge at first).
Three main things to be successful at Sponsored Tweets is picking the right keywords that pertain to what you tweet about. Also, I didn't try making my own keywords. I actually picked only the keywords related to my Tweets/Followers audience that automatically showed up when I started typing in keywords. Also, when those keywords pop-up as a suggestion for you, they have a number by them which basically shows you how many people are using that keyword. I decided to go with all of the most popular ones related to my Tweets/Audience. So, between lowering my price to $1.00/tweet, adding as many high-quality keywords as I could, and presenting/typing up the ad tweets including most, if not all of what the advertiser requests.
Although, I've recently changed some of my keywords again, and now my offers have dropped to basically a few a week if I'm lucky. So I know keywords that you choose on Sponsored Tweets, your price, and the followers/following ratio does seem to have a great effect on your success with this program. Also, make sure you tweet daily. And don't just tweet something that's already all over the internet. Try to find very good resources for information and ideas that are related to the main things you tweet about. If you post unique, quality, and somewhat catchy ads/tweets, it really helps. Spelling and Grammar are important as well so don't forget that!
As I learn the program better and figure it out as much as I can, I'll keep you guys posted on here and/or on my Internet Marketing Forums at:
Internet Marketing Forums - www.ezInternetMarketing.net
I look forward to helping anyone here who wants/needs it. I have a lot of experience with Internet Marketing, SEO, Web Design and more. I'm sure I'll figure out some tricks/tips for Sponsored Tweets and I'll be sure to share them here with you guys/gals first!
Take care and best of luck in your future endeavors!

I think that we should have more interaction with advertisers regarding construction of ads. For instance; A rejection based on a (supposed) spelling error is ridiculous on Twitter at 140 characters.
Twitter constraints demand that you shorten your tweets and who is to say that using a "u" instead of spelling out the word "you" for instance, is not going to draw potential buyers.
With 25,000 plus followers on my account I can safely say that using shortened acronyms or abbreviated posts is the norm on this medium.
I just think an outright rejection without review is rather shortsighted on the advertisers part. Might want to consider explaining what Twitter really is rather than having people being rejected out of hand.
Many of these advertisers are misinformed as to what this platform is. -
There will be offers a tweeter should turn down in the best interest of the advertiser and his/her own reputation.
An example would be an offer I recently accepted from We Farm. While I have a "General" tag I knew my followers were in most cases not gamers. I am almost 60 years old and so are many of my followers. I should have turned that down, but I didn't and even though I have 13,000+ followers I only generated 1 click. This does not serve the sponsor well and it also tarnishes my reputation.

Hi Everyone ,
I am a new user to sponsored tweets , And i am interested in publishing the ads on my account .
But the problem is that i didn't got any opp since i registered my account before about 10 days . I was having 6,000 followers at first and i offered 4 dollars per tweet , after three days my followers increased to 6,400 but also didn't got any opp , so i decreased the cost per tweet from 4$ to 2$ , and by the time my followers are increasing but not getting any opp until i changed the cost per tweet to 0.25$ xD and i left my account for a whole week and still i didn't got any opps .
I don't really know whats wrong , does the users in sponsored tweets wait for months until they get a single opp !? Or i am doing something wrong .
And pls keep it in mine that i saw alot of publishers on sponsored tweets didn't upgrade for the pro account having very few followers and offering high cost per tweet and getting alot of opp .
1- Good number of followers .
2- Good description for my account .
3- Right tags .
4- Low tweet rate only 0.25$ .
Nooooooooooooooo Offers , Need a good answer pls :)

Hi,
In taking a look at your account this morning, I see that your content has been marked 'mature' due to the language and subject mater of your tweets.
This does not mean that you will not get offers, but you will be matched with far fewer Advertisers due to your solid 'R' rating since most of our Advertisers are searching for Tweeters who are more family friendly.

I signed up for Sponsored Tweets and immediately got some offers. I accepted some and it seemed to go well so when your suggested rate went up, I raised my price and still got offers which I accepted and got satisfactory results for. I say satisfactory because I got enough clicks to not have to post the tweet again and to get paid.
Now my suggested price is almost twice what I am asking yet all of a sudden the offers stopped coming. I haven't had an offer for more than 2 weeks. I want to develop the potential here but don't know if this is normal or if I am doing something wrong. A little advice would be appreciated. I want to see 10+ offers that I can accept per month. Thanks

I will admit, I haven't been active for a while. When I used sponsored tweets I had no problem. I got a lot of clicks because I had a lot of followers. Now I have nearly 70,000 and want to start using SponsoredTweets again. And even enabled my Pro Badge. Would appreciate some assistance. Thanks!

Hi,
This thread contains a lot of great information about getting more Offers and optimizing your account.
Also, In taking a look at your account this afternoon, I see that you do not currently have any keywords listed. As this is one of the main ways advertisers find you, you will want to make sure to add several keywords that reflect the themes about which you tweet.

Hi,
You may wish to reconsider some of your keywords.
Remember that these are one of the main ways you are matched with an Advertiser. Currently, 'sports' is likely the only keyword that you have that is being matched.
It is highly unlikely that an Advertiser is searching for 'Amsterdam,'
Holland,' 'nederland,' or 'ajax.'

Im used to seeing a bunch of CPC ads available for me to choose from. I hadnt used sponsored ads in a while, and came back and saw I had absolutely none to choose from, they were all gone!
So my question is...how do I get these back?
Account name is previously TheBillWalton, and is now NotBillWalton
Thank you for your help
ps. I was also getting CPT requests but since there is no way to say "Not Now" they all disappeared because I wasnt using sponsored tweets at the time. Id like to ramp this back up and use sponsored tweets daily again.

Hi Bill,
If there are no CPC Offers shown on your homepage then this indicates that there are none that you currently meet the segmentation criteria for. Once new Opportunities are created that match your keywords, you will see these appear on your dashboard.

Hi,
In taking a look at your account this afternoon, I see that several of your keywords are business, finance & social media related which we don't generally have a big call for.
Other than that, everything looks good. It is not unusual to have Offer spaced out or to receive several at once and then none for a few days or even weeks.

I've been using Sponsored Tweets for over a year (maybe longer) and for the past month I've only got a handful of opportunities. This has caused my worth to go way, way down. I tried paying for a PRO account, but nothing changed. What's the deal here?

First off please, please do NOT merge my question into another thread. That happened before because someone didn't read my problem correctly. I have very different issues going on with my account, and I need someone to specifically address my concerns as noted below. Please, please read carefully and help me.
Here is the short of it:My account has 75,000 followers. It is a popular sports parody account. I have been interviewed by ESPN, Fast Company, and been featured on TV for March Madness. I started using Sponsored Tweets in September of 2011 and immediately had great results. Opps every day, many CPT requests every day, etc.
In the middle of November of 2011 Twitter suspended my account by what was later deemed to be a mistake, because my account is a parody. In December they finally reactivated my account after addressing the mistake and I changed the name from @TheBillWalton to @NotBillWalton to make sure I wouldn't have an issue again. No problem.
Since that change, I have not received any Opps. This is obviously a mistake. Right now I have 75,000 very real followers and a very real Klout score of 75.
I would like someone to please check out what is going on with my account. I believe since my account was suspended it will need some help to get out of this 'suspended state' on Sponsored Tweets as well. I really want to get back to using Sponsored Tweets and I know I just need someone to really look over this issue for me.
Thank you so much
Chris
@NotBillWalton

Not getting Opps now because account was previously mistakenly suspended by Twitter.-
Hi Chris,
I took a look at your account this morning and see nothing to prevent it from receiving opportunities in Sponsored Tweets.
Keep in mind that since the Advertisers choose the Tweeters with whom they wish to work directly, it is difficult to say when you may get an Offer. However, it does seem that the past few months, the majority of Advertisers have been targeting lower priced Tweeters.
This is not to say you should lower your price as I think you are priced well for your follower count, but your price is segmenting you out of the majority of campaigns of late.
All the Best,

Hey Carri,
This would be true if I were just talking about CPT offers. I see absolutely nothing! No CPC offers either. Everyone gets CPC offers, and I see none. Everything was absolutely fine with my account BEFORE the suspension, so it makes no sense that I would see nothing at all now. Not one ad since my account was suspended.
Something has to be different here. Is there a way to reset my account or something? -
-
Also I dont understand why my topic was still merged. My account clearly has some other issues going on if I dont even see CPC offers. Ever since I got the account back, I havent seen one offer, when before I was flooded with offers.
So Carri, please look further into this. Most of the twitter accounts that have alot of followers are spam accounts or follow back accounts, mine is NOT. I have 75K very real followers a high Klout score etc. There should be no reason for me not to see CPC offers at all.
I have been stuck using a competitor in the meantime, and I would MUCH rather use sponsored tweets. Please find a way to fix this. Thank you!!-
Hi Bill,
While I appreciate your frustration, the timing is coincidental. There is nothing that would prevent your account from receiving Offers other than not matching with the parameters the Advertiser set and there is no way to "reset" an account.
Offers do typically tend to come in waves, so it is not unusual to see several at once an then none for several days or even weeks.
It does seem, though, that there have been fewer CPC Offers created in the past several months than the previous few months. The last few months of 2011 saw quite a few CPC Opportunities and less CPT Opps.
All the Best,
Carri -
-
Carri. I got my account back in December. It is now March 21st. 3 months later and I have not seen ONE OFFER! How can people with less of a following then me see CPC offers and I dont see them? Can you explain how that is even remotely possible? Im not trying to be argumentative here, but clearly there is more going on.
You havent even looked into whether my name change made it a problem. I went from TheBillwalton to NotBillWalton and ceased getting offers immediately. Instead of assuming its coincidental, can you please ask someone who works technically with coding or something to see what is going on? Please?
Because I know there is a problem. -
-
-

I just recently started, but the offers that came to my account were offers dated from last year (3 opps were yanked because they were expired). My account just became active this month. Why was expired opportunities sent to me and can I please have new current opportunites sent to me- Thanks
-
Sorry, EB!
The expired CPC Opps showing is a bug that our Engineers are aware of. This should be corrected in the next few releases.
All the Best,
Carri -

Ok now I am 100% sure there is a problem. I have another account with less followers but still a nice following of 9K followers, and I logged into Sponsored Tweets with that account and immediately see six CPC offers. Meanwhile on my @NotBillWalton account that has 75K followers I see ZERO CPC offers.
Obviously there is a problem!! What is going on? Do I have to take screen shots for you or something? Please, instead of saying its not a problem, please instead find out whats going wrong. Is my account suspended? In limbo? If you feel there is nothing wrong, and I am convinced there is, can you please perhaps put me in touch with someone else? I say this out of respect, but also out of frustration because I am 100% sure there is something wrong with my account.-
Hi Bill,
Are all of the keywords the same between the two accounts? Have you already completed any of the CPC Opps present in the account you see them in another account? These things would make a difference as to what Opps you see.
Also, in taking another at the @NotBillWalton account, I see that there are two CPC Opps showing, however, these are both expired. This is due to a known bug that should (hopefully) be addressed soon.
Per your request, I asked our Engineers to look at your account to see if they could spot any issues I did not. Although the did not see any issues with your account, they forwarded this activity list. I am only copying the activity from December forward.

22281830 CpcOpp 2011-12-28 19:43:48 Yanked
As you can see, there are several CPC Opportunities that you were matched with since your handle changed, however, these were all yanked before you saw them or could take them. While it is not unusual for an Opp to be yanked (it happens frequently if an error was made, if the Advertiser wishes to end a campaign early, if they change direction or want to include different information, etc...) it is a little weird to see so many in one account.
That being said, yanks are not done systemically (meaning that the system is not closing these specifically in your account) nor can you manually yank an opp on a per user basis. What this means is that your account is not being singled out.
Also, since you are being matched, even if the CPC Opps are subsequently yanked, this shows that there are no suspension or time out issues in your account.

Carri, thank you for continuing to look into this.
1. Yes I made sure the keywords are exactly the same. I even went back again and deleted them and added again with the same results.
2. the other account has never used sponsored tweets. this was the first time signed up to it and I immediately saw CPC offers for Cycling A,B,C and D as well as a Hill's 1A for Hills Pet. Still nothing showing up at all for @NotBillWalton
3. All those yanked offers for @NotBillWalton were put to me during the time I was suspended, but some lingered later. They were actually old offers still in the system. I tried to do them, and they then immediately appeared as yanked. As those went away, nothing new ever showed up.
So with all that said, the situation is still exactly the same. I can show you screen shots if you would like. This is frustrating because I see plenty of other people seem to see CPC offers with no problem.
PS I lowered my CPT way down in price to see what would happen, and someone did respond, so that it least seems to be working.-
Hi Bill,
I apologize for your continued frustration. Unfortunately, neither I nor our Engineers see anything in your account that is amiss. In fact, everything appears to be functioning as it should.
Please do note that the dates of the yanked CPC matches in your account that I copied you on above are current. The latest match was from earlier today, so you are active and being matched. Hopefully there will be future matches that are not yanked soon.

I've been happily using Sponsored Tweets for a little over a year with no problems at all. After the Pro Accounts were created, I no longer receive any Opportunities. I used to have 20 to 30 opps to choose from on any day I logged in.
Are the basic accounts not getting any more Opps cause they're all going to the Pro Accounts?
Please advise. Thanks.-
Hi Chryssy,
What a PRO designation does is put you at the top of an Advertiser's match list. So, this does give you more visibility. However, it does not guarantee work. The Advertiser still has to choose the streams with whom they wish to work.
For non-PRO users, this means that you may have less Offers due to less visibility, but it does also still have to do with your keywords, price and the quality of your stream as well as how well you perform.
Unfortunately, there is no magic solution or one answer that will get you tons of Offers. It is mostly a waiting game and largely a mater of trial and error.
I hope this helps!

Hi,
I apologize for the delay. I meant to get back to you just after merging this thread, but things got crazy. I get the idea from your handle that you understand how that happens. :)
In taking a look at your account this afternoon, I can't see any obvious red flags that need correcting. Your tags look good, your price point is good and your stream looks like you spend a good deal of time engaging.
Sometimes it's just a waiting game. It's not unusual for Offers to come in waves.

Hi,
This thread has a lot of great discussion about getting more Offers.
In taking a look at your account, I don't see any red flags that would prevent you from getting Offers nor do I think your asking price is unreasonable. Your keywords are slightly niche, but that also makes sense since you tweet mainly about beauty and fashion.
This could also be the reason your Offers have slowed a bit. Several months ago, we had quite a few fashion & beauty campaigns running and currently, the campaigns have been back to school/family based.
Inactivity is not indicated until 6 months of no actions taken in your account, so I am sure your Offers will pick back up before that time.
All the Best,

Hi Ryan,
Getting Offers in Sponsored Tweets is often a waiting game. However, if you can please provide me your Twitter handle, I would be happy to take a look to see if I can make any suggestions.

Been using Sponsored Tweets for a bit. Not sure why I don't get many offers? Is it due to less tweeting by me?
Love you guys, met Ted at BlogWorld Expo 2008, I was the video guy for show management Dave Cynkin . https://www.facebook.com/nicholaschas...

Hi Nicholas,
This thread has a lot of great discussion on optimizing your account and getting more Offers.
Mainly, it comes down to the keywords you have selected, your asking price and how you interact with your followers on Twitter.
If you could please provide me your Twitter handle, I would be happy to take a look to see if I can provide more specific feedback.

I just got a message saying I was going to be charged a $5 fee because I am inactive. how am I supposed to be active if every time I check in on the site I have no campaigns. How is it my fault you don't give me any real campaigns. This is ridiculous and how dare you almost threaten someone with fees if they don't use a service you're nit providing.

I signed up on 15th April, have 15,000 followers on Twitter, a very active account, a profile which seats within several key areas such as business and technology, have optimised my account for keywords and used the recommended price per tweet.
Yet in spite of all this, I have yet to receive one single offer.
Why?
Am I doing something wrong, or is this whole thing just a scam?
So far I have paid for two months membership, and as far as I can see, the whole thing is a total waste.
Please convince me otherwise before I quit and advise my 15,000 followers to avoid what appears to be a scam.

In taking a look at your account, I see that is set up quite well. However, here are a few things that my help you to match more which may, in turn, result in more Offers.
First, keywords. Yours are quite well-chosen. However, they are also quite niche which is going to limit the number of times you are matched to a specific subset of Advertisers.
The keywords Twitter, blogging, internet and internet marketing are probably not going to get matched very often. You may want to replace a few of these with more broad keywords like general and entertainment.
Should you receive poorly targeted Offers with broader keywords, you will have the opportunity to decline the Offer, but at least you will be getting Offers.
Second, your asking price is higher than most Advertisers set as their max per tweet price. Yes, I know this is what we suggest and the suggestion is based on your followers. However, most Advs set a max per tweet between $7-$10. So, if you're priced higher - even if your keywords match - you are not being seen because you are out of their price range.
All the Best,
