Pay Range Instead Of Set Amount
The main concern I have with version 4 is the set amount you have to put in to get an opportunity. On one hand, I don't like limiting myself on money made when I could've made more. On the other hand, sometimes there are opportunities I will take for less money because it's something I'm interested in. Is there any way we can set up a range of payment, or at the very least set the lowest amount we will take for an opportunity with the chance to make more?

Thanks for the suggestion, Tony!
Some of the best changes that we make to our properties come from user suggestions. We'll be sure to consider this for the future.

I agree! I am having a hard time deciding if I should change what the system has suggested for me...hmmm

Perhaps make it more like a self-advertisment instead of giving direct prices. You ́ll do not want to sell Yourself for some amount of money, do You?

I agree with Tony on the idea of pay ranges. There's a few things that will need to be worked out on it though. If you add pay ranges there needs to be more communication and haggle option between buyer/seller or in this case Advertiser/Blogger. When I get an opportunity for $10 that wants me to add 3 extra links besides the paid link for a total of 4 links of course I'm going to deny it... but in the denial process there should be a "respond to advertiser" box where you can put your reason for denying the opportunity. I want to be able to say "Hey I'll take your opportunity, but that's just too many links could you lower the number of required links, or increase the pay."
From there the advertiser would have the option to increase pay, decrease requirements, or find another blogger. Of course between each transaction lets say the advertiser decreases the number of additional links by 1 for a total of 3 links but does not increase pay. This may still be unacceptable for the blogger so they return to the advertiser with another request. Now over this period of time 3 days has passed and the opportunity expires!!! Oh no!!! But if after each reply the 3 days is reset there is no problem.
This sort of payment system is very useful for advertisers too. I not only blog but advertise with P3 and as such with the old system when I had websites like http://www.petitionsforchange.com that I'm trying to launch right now I could put up a high paying opportunity and also request for bloggers to create a petition in the process of doing the blog entry and have them link to that petition... Now the only way to pay a blogger what THAT kind of work is worth is to increase the number of words, and in doing so you're really only paying extra for the words and not the extra work in creating a petition and linking to it.
These are just a couple of scenarios that I can think of where pay ranges and an advertiser being able to crank up the pay to a blogger might be advantageous.-
I like this idea, let me know if it is ever in place, would like to help test it.
The one thing I need is a way to talk to an advertiser or ppp staff when there are issues with a post -

I agree with you cody, blogger should be given a way to communicate with the advertiser, especially if there is something wrong with the opps.

I agree. It is hard to set a price because you don't want to miss out, but you wonder if the advertiser would really pay you more if you asked for it.

if you put a pay range the advertiser is going to choose the lowest rate ,,i think

I personally think it would be better to accept offers from the advertisers. If the advertiser is something like a non-profit, or for a cause that I believe in, I would be willing to accept less for making a post. Also, if it is something I don't normally write about, a higher offer may sway my decision. This would work with setting a minimum price per word / per link. I think it would also be good if the blogger could list topics that they are comfortable / prefer writing about.
To be honest, this would be best with a feedback option on an offer. So, if an advertiser asks for 10 links, and 1000 words for $10, the blogger could tell the advertiser via the feedback option that they would do this for $15, or ask them to reduce the word count below 600 words in order to accept the $10 price.
Just a few ideas.-
There is feedback. When you decline an offer, there is an area to state why. Bloggers do list topics by selecting tags or keywords, so choose them wisely.

Seems like a good idea! By the way, do the "suggested" price go up as one works longer on here or has more experience? What is it based on? Thanks for suggestion and for information! I like this site so far...

I think it just has to do with PR, traffic, that sort of thing. My blogs with the same PR have the same suggested amount, for example. It has nothing to do with how long you have been here.

Hi Ruby,
As your followers grow, so will your suggested price. However, keep in mind that you are able to set your asking price to whatever you feel your time is worth.

Sometimes some advertisers are putting the price just to test the water, if it works, then they got lucky. One advertisers offer me $1.50 for link only, I'm not in the mood to do the opps,I negotiate for $5 and they accepted it, what I'm saying is if you have a budget of $5,then offer it as is instead of playing w/ the bloggers.

I think this is a great idea. Case in point...When I changed my amount to the "suggested amount" per tweet, I stopped receiving opportunities. I changed it back to the slightly lower amount and they started coming in again. I think we choucld definitely be able to set a proce range.

Hi Taiwan,
I went in to make sure that this feature request was still pending in the development queue. It is there, but the priority is not high enough to make it into the schedule yet.
Hopefully we will be able to include this in the new year.
All the Best,
