5I like to think about it this way... Your twitter account is like a TV station and your followers are viewers. What content makes up your station? What are the demographics of your viewers? From an advertiser perspective, if my product does not line up with this, I'm wasting my money advertising on your station.
As more and more advertiser come on board, hopefully we will have those that think their product will be received well on your station :)

I just started, I'm even PRO and I have 1,6k followers....suggested price is 1.8$ but I'm using 1.1$ and still no offers....

I have no offer for more than a year now. they will charge my account for inactivity.
How can I be active if I have no offer. -

Since I cant get a reply anywhere else maybe someone will see this here and help me:
My account has 75,000 followers. It is a popular sports parody account. I have been interviewed by ESPN, Fast Company, and been featured on TV for March Madness. I started using Sponsored Tweets in September of 2011 and immediately had great results. Opps every day, many CPT requests every day, etc.
In the middle of November of 2011 Twitter suspended my account by what was later deemed to be a mistake, because my account is a parody. In December they finally reactivated my account after addressing the mistake and I changed the name from @TheBillWalton to @NotBillWalton to make sure I wouldn't have an issue again. No problem.
Since that change, I have not received any Opps. This is obviously a mistake. Right now I have 75,000 very real followers and a very real Klout score of 75.
I would like someone to please check out what is going on with my account. I believe since my account was suspended it will need some help to get out of this 'suspended state' on Sponsored Tweets as well. I really want to get back to using Sponsored Tweets and I know I just need someone to really look over this issue for me.
Thank you so much
Chris

Unfortunately we have had the same problem with a German account from a customer of us (but only about >1 k Followers), suspended by Twitter and never get any SponsoredTweet offerings in the recent times again. Furthermore we have had very good experiences with the old "be a Magpie" advertisement system from Germany that was marvelous and more functionable than SponsoredTweets is now. :-(

I agree. I used to get offers all the time and even though I check in from time to time to see if any offers are available (they always aren't), I recently got an email saying that my account was going to be suspended due to inactivity. The inactivity is on your part and me not getting any offers! I don't understand how I used to get offers every few days and now I haven't received one in SEVERAL months. The only way I make money now is through a few referrals here and there.

Carri, I'm in the same boat as Melissa... and you guys are saying you'll charge ME $5 for inactivity... I should be charging you! What happened to you guys? You used to be impressive and now you're just not!

Hi Jackie,
In taking a look at your account this afternoon, I think your keywords could use an overhaul.
Keep in mind that these are not like SEO tags or keywords, but rather the general terms that Advertisers set up on their campaigns to match with Tweeters.
What this means is that in order to be matched with you, an Advertiser would have to search, 'dating,' 'dating tips,' 'single,' or 'singles,' etc. which is not going to happen very often.
You would be better off with tags such as, 'romance,' 'entertainment,' 'general,' etc.
We agree that there should be some additional ways to indicate you are active other than acting on an Offer, so you should see some changes to this in the next few release cycles. For now, though, I reached out to our campaign fulfillment team to get you a current Offer which you will now see in your account.
Once you act on this Offer (whether tweeting or declining) your account will remain active for at least the next 6 months.
All the Best,

I've also had my account for months, maybe close to a year and never gotten a single offer. I don't get it. Now they're telling me they're going to charge me for inactivity?? I think I'm just going to deactivate my account.
-
Hi Christy,
I am sorry to hear about your frustration. In taking a look at your account this afternoon, I see that your keywords are pretty specific. What this means is that an Advertiser would have to be specifically searching for, 'faith,' 'homeschooling,' or 'Christianity," etc in order to even see you.
I added a few additional keywords to your account such as 'family,' 'children,' and 'general' to help you match more often. I would also suggest raising your per tweet price to somewhere around $1.00.
Also, we agree that there should be some additional ways to indicate you are active other than acting on an Offer, so you should see some changes to this in the next few release cycles. Hi, I recently received one offer. But that is all, I used to receive a lot, now there is none at all. I would like to know why as I have over 100K followers and currently only charging $15 a tweet,
-
Hi Haydn,
There are a couple things that are going to segment you from Opportunities. The first is your price point. While it is reasonable for your follower count, it is still a bit higher than most Advertisers are setting as their maximum per tweet.
You will likely get more Offers in the $10 range, but you'll have to do some experimenting with this to see if it's worth it as you'd have to do twice as many tweets to make the same money were you to reduce your price.
Second, a lot of our Advertisers segment on US only Tweeters. As you are in the UK, this will also segment you from Opportunities.

I signed up for pro, have a lot of followers, and all my keywords are what were suggested in one of your blog posts. I still haven't gotten any new offers. Oh, actually I got 2 of the same offers, and I'm unable to hide them. Bah.

Hi Jacky,

I recently signed up as well. I have approx 12k followers and I feel quality keywords. I had a suggested price per tweet of $14+, but set my price at $1.50 with the thinking that I would attract a lot of opportunities.
Although I just started this yesterday, shouldn't there at least be ONE opportunity presented to me? I signed up as a Pro, but certainly am not going to pay to use a service that doesn't offer any opportunities. Please tell me what to expect, and how to improve the quantity of offers.
Sincerely,
John-
Hi John,
Offer have always come in waves, so it is not unusual to go several days or even weeks between.
Also, I would rethink a few of your keywords. This post on the Sponsored Tweets blog should help.

Wow! Makes me wonder if we'll get any as well. We have over 160k followers, and they are all active, well pruned accounts. I guess there are probably better gigs to look at than this one. The one offer is for cents, and this site is suggesting I charge $127 a tweet! I am not seeing anyone pay that for a tweet. If advertisers are not buying, it's because they are not getting a return on investment.
-
Hi Samuel,
Higher price points do not get as many Offers. It's not so much about the value these accounts provide as much as most Advertisers having the tendency to choose 12 $10 tweeters rather than 1 $120 tweeter.
In fact, the majority of Advertisers set the maximum per tweet between $5-$15, so higher priced Tweeters are segmented out of a lot of match lists.
This is not to say you have to lower your price. Although this will likely get you more Offers, you also have to consider how many more Offers you will have to complete to make the same amount.
For example, if you get one tweet a month or every other month for $127, you're still making more than if you got paid $10 each for 12 different Tweets over the same period of time.
As with most online incomes, Sponsored Tweets will likely not make you rich, but will provide some additional revenue and how much you get out depends on how much time you spend putting into it and experimenting with what works for you.
All the Best,

Seriously there needs to better advertisers on here. Half of them I won't even waste my time with. IE: if their add doesn't fit within what I tweet about/or looks to scamy/spammy I won't do it. If it's something I personally do not like I won't tweet about it. I think there needs to be a way to communicate with the advertisers about what will be tweeted other than keywords. Though I also will not take offers under $7.00 {it's just not worth my time}.

Hi im new to sponsored tweet i got 3 day and still have no offers , i put he keywords acording to my twitter and to the ones you guys said in you blog pls help
-
Hi,
Welcome to Sponsored Tweets!
It can sometimes take a while to start getting Offers and Offers do tend to come in waves with several at once and then none for several days or even weeks.
Since Advertisers choose Tweeters directly, it's difficult to say when Offers might come. It depends on your asking price, your keywords and the engagement of your followers in addition to the quality of content in your stream and often even your avatar and Twitter handle.
All the Best,
Carri -
-
Hang in there, depending on how many Twitter followers you have and the ratio it could be a while before you get offers. Back when there were way less Twitter users signed up there were less users, more offers per user but now with so many people signed up there is lot of Twitter user competition and so many for advertisers to choose from.
If you don't get any offers for your first month, try dropping price per tweet to $1 (unless it is already $1) and see if offers come, then gradually increase to reach your viable point. Get approved tweets and some analytics before increasing, as fewer advertisers take chances on someone "new" with no CPC history yet. -

Same here. I've had my account for... I can't even remember how long, and I haven't even gotten a single offer. My tags are fairly general.. 'general', 'entertainment', 'technology' and 'music', to name a few. Yet I've never gotten a single offer. I see many people here saying how many followers they've got, but I don't see it in the terms and condition that you have to have a certain amount of followers to get offers. Compared to most people here, I only have about 200 followers, but they're all active.
I agree with Christy. If I'm not getting any offers I might as well delete my account. =/- view 2 more comments

That's exactly what I needed. In taking a look at your account, I don't see any red flags that would prevent your from getting Offers.
Often it's just a waiting game, especially when you're getting started.
I'll reach out to our Fulfillment Team to see if there is a managed campaign they can add you to.

I have over 12K followers and priced my self to $1, My followers are very increasing every day, as I am a very active on twitter. However I have zero offers and it has been about a week! I have even referred someone to Sponsored Tweets!
-
Hi,
Welcome to Sponsored Tweets! Looks like you just registered a few days ago, so it can take a while to start getting Offers.
In taking a look at your account this morning, I see it is set up correctly. You may wish to increase your price per tweet somewhere between $5-$7, though. At $1 per tweet, you are likely going to get lost among a sea of other Tweeters and your follower count can support a higher price.
All the Best,

Hi Mark,
In taking a look at your accounts this afternoon, they both appear to be set up well.
Often times it is just a waiting game. Also, I see that the @abigailsuarez07 account had an Offer in the past two weeks, so Advertisers are seeing you. They may just not all be choosing you as a good fit for their campaigns.

I created a pro account and went lower than your recommended price, but still have not received any offers. I'm using the same key words as other top earners in my field, but I'm not having any luck.
I have a popular handle @FantasyFootball with close to 40K followers. I'm wondering if my price is still too high? You guys DOUBLE the price and that might be scaring people away. Especially if you're not a "celeb".
I was also wondering why my avatar is smaller than other profiles?
https://twitter.com/FantasyFootball-
Hi Kevin,
I would say two things are affecting your Offers. The first is your asking price and the second is the niche nature of your account.
Neither are wrong or inappropriate for your account, but put together, they are going to result in fewer Offers.
It is up to you whether you choose to adjust either your keywords or your asking price. If you go down to say $10/tweet, you may get more Offers, but you'll have to complete three times as many than at your current asking price.
In addition, it looks like about half of your keywords deal with football (as naturally they would) and this is correct for your stream, but keep in mind that this is also going to limit the number of Offers you receive since you're matching with a smaller pool of Advertisers.
If you add a few more general terms such as entertainment, or even general. You may see more matches.
Also, the size of your avatar is likely to do with how you entered it in your Twitter account as that is where these we pull these from.

I signed up this week and I've had two offers since... I use twitter regularly and have almost 2000 followers and my own travel blog. I only use the keywords travel and photography at the moment... Maybe that helps?
-
Hi Fenya,
Welcome to Sponsored Tweets!
There really isn't a magic formula for getting offers, but making sure that you add keywords (we allow up to 10) and that your price is competitive (without being too high or too low) also helps.
Offers do tend to come in waves and can be slow to start. An extremely active account will see several offers a month. Most people see a few each month.
If you would like to provide me your Twitter handle, I would be happy to take a look at your account to see if I can make any specific suggestions to help improve your visibility.

Hi,
I signed up over a month ago, have 7K+ followers, and have yet to receive any offers. I also made my price half of what was recommended. I signed up for PRO, checked my keywords etc. I have a Klout score of 51, all Twitter, which isn't super high but isn't terrible. Any suggestions? @PublicArtNYC1-
Hi Gerald,
I would suggest updating your keywords. Keep in mind that these are how Advertisers get matched with you, so in order for them to find you, they'd have to search for urban, Brooklyn, hipster, etc. which is not likely to happen.
Instead they are going to search for much broader terms such as travel, entertainment, fashion, etc.
This post on our blog should provide some additional keyword guidance.

Hi,
I signed up a few weeks ago @Styleinnyc and have yet to receive any offers. Actually I did receive one, signed up for it and it then was listed as "yanked". I made my price half the suggested amount. I enjoy tweeting but would really like to make a few extra dollars from it. I have Pro. I have over 8,000 followers. Please let me know what else I can do to make my twitter more attractive to advertisers.
Thanks,
Phyllis-
Hi Phyllis,
In taking a look at your account this afternoon, I see that you have had an Offer, hooray!
However, I would suggest that you rethink a few of your keywords. Keep in mind that keywords are one of the main ways Advertisers search for matching Tweeters, so you want to keep these as broad as possible while still remaining relevant to your Twitter stream.
For example, there are likely to be few Advertisers searching for internet, seo, social media, clothes or jewelry. You'd be better served with tags such as beauty, entertainment, style and technology.

I started two weeks ago.I signed up for PRO and I have 7K followers....suggested price is $4.12 but I'm using $1.99 and still no offers. I think I have good keywords... Am I missing something. My account is @PurplePostings and is mostly about music, movies and entertainment.
-
Hi,
Your account appears to be set up well, but since it is so niche, there are not likely to be as many Advertisers matched with you as there would be for someone who tweeted more general topics.

@MrEZLoot I've only gotten one offer and that is for 4 cents a click. My price is half my recommended price. I've got 8,034 followers. I've got Pro.My keywords look fine to me. Any tips???

Hi,
I would suggest that you rethink almost all of your keywords. Keep in mind that keywords are one of the main ways Advertisers search for matching Tweeters, so you want to keep these as broad as possible while still remaining relevant to your Twitter stream.
For example, there are likely to be few Advertisers searching for internet, seo, social media, marketing, computer or make money online. You'd be better served with tags such as business, finance, (which are not the same as the business/finance tag you have) money, entertainment, and technology.
All the Best,

I signed up awhile ago. @ChocolateInNYC I have 7,000 strong followers most of them in the food business or trying to get in. I signed up for PRO and I think my keywords are pretty strong. Do you have any suggestions? I'd like to try some sponsored tweets out to see what happens. I also made my charge per tweet much lower than the suggested price.

Hi Jenny,
In taking a look at your account this afternoon, everything appears to be set up well and I see you did get an offer yesterday. Hopefully this activity will get you noticed more often.
Also, since your asking price is less than $1.00, I am not sure paying for PRO will be beneficial to you as it is not unusual to see weeks between Offers.

no ops for 3 months? If I could receive an email, I am curious as to why. thanks! @ReneeAChapman

Hi Renee,
Your account looks good. The only thing that might cause a gap in offers is that all your keywords are similar.
However, we generally have a lot of family and coupon based opps and your price is good, so I don't see any reason for such a long delay.
In any case, I was able to get you added to an Opp this afternoon, so hopefully this will jump start your account and spur further activity.

Over a week as Pro and not a single offer, is it even worth it?
-
Hi Gary,
PRO doesn't guarantee Offers. What it does is places you at the top of the match list when you meet the Advertiser's segmentation.
Some people do find more success with PRO and others are not helped by it at all. If you find that PRO does not increase your Offers, then feel free to opt out.
In taking a look at your account this afternoon, it appears to be set up well. So, the good news is I don't see any issues that might prevent you from receiving Offers. The bad news is I don't have any suggestions to increase Offers. Sometimes it's just a waiting game.
All the Best,
