Why I'm unable to sign-up or Sign-in with my twitter account? [Twitter screen name already been taken]

I already sign-up to the sponsored tweets (https://app.sponsoredtweets.com/) from long days back, after I signed-up to the account I think I have changed my twitter username and when I tried to sign-in to the sponsored tweets account with my twitter username (Type: Oauth) It is redirecting to the Sign-up process (https://app.sponsoredtweets.com/signup).

When I tried to sign-up (https://app.sponsoredtweets.com/tweeters) to that twitter account (@pkarunkumar) it is giving the error "Twitter screen name already been taken" see the image.

I tried to contact @spontwts and they are replying too, I think It is better to write here to know the solution in detail.

Hello, sponsored tweets staff I hope this error will get fixed within few days. If not please delete my sponsored tweets account (@pkarunkumar) in your database so that I can able to create new accont on sponsored tweets.

    Hi Arun,

    I checked the Sponsored Tweets Admin and see that we do have an account using the Twitter handle pkarunkumar and the email address you provided in this thread.

    Is it possible that you made a typo or an error when trying to sign in? Can you please simply try to log in again and send a screenshot of that screen should you again get an error?

    Hay Carri, I'm trying to sign-in from 3 months! not able to sign-in successfully.

    No, it's not typo mistake problem. I think it is bug from your side. See the below images I have uploaded all the steps which I tried to sign-in to my account and It has been redirected to sign-up process. Have a look at below images.

    Ok, should be able to login now. There's an issue with renaming people in our system that we really need to address (one or two people have been getting this a week lately).

    If you (or anyone) previously had account with name "original_name". Maybe you decided SponsoredTweets wasn't or you, so you revoked access, then changed your name to "new_name". We stop updating your name in SponsoredTweets, so we'll have someone in our system known as "original_name" forever at that point.

    So if another user creates a Twitter account with the now available "original_name" and tries to signup they'll get an error. Basically we just need to keep our names in sync with Twitter, and if someone signs up with a taken name we need to update the old name right then. Luckily this is a relatively simple global fix on our side we're working on for an upcoming release. But for you specifically you should be able to get in now.

    If this happens to anyone else before we get a fix out, just include your username and we'll fix it for you!

    I'm having this problem from 6 months itself, but I don't take sponsored tweet as serious. so, I'm not asked earlier. I will try to blog this issue on my blog at www.ashout.com in upcoming days.

    hi, please help! i wanted to use the username of an account i own (@haibae) for another account (@eyeiashes), so i changed the username of the @haibae account to "@jinr0ng". when i went over to the account @eyeiashes to change it to "@haibae", right above the box where you key in the desired username, it said "The screen name haibae has already been taken." however, when you search for the user "@haibae" on twitter, no users are found. this has been going on for months. please help! urgent :( you may contact me at tammmieee@gmail.com!       Hi Tammie,

      You cannot update a Twitter handle in Sponsored Tweets.

      Since we use OAuth to log you in, when you update with Twitter, we pick up that change in Sponsored Tweets automatically once you log in with the new credentials.

      What this means is that you do not have to create a new ST accounts for a handle you updated in Twitter.

      You should be able to access the Sponsored Tweets account for the new handle by simply logging in to Sponsored Tweets using your Twitter login for the specified handle just as if you were logging in to your Twitter account.
